Weber County is patrolled by seven separate agencies with different training, different equipment and different habits. That is not trivia — it determines what video exists, how the field tests were administered, and which court gets the file.
Ogden Police Department
The largest agency in the county and the source of most Ogden DUI filings. Heaviest enforcement runs Historic 25th Street’s bar district, Washington Boulevard, Wall Avenue, and the I-15 and 12th Street interchange, with event-night and holiday saturation patrols.
Weber County Sheriff’s Office
Patrols the unincorporated county and the canyons. Sheriff cases are frequently filed in the Roy/Weber Justice Court or, if the level warrants, the Second District.
Utah Highway Patrol
Works I-15 and I-84 through the county. UHP DUI cases are more often filed in district court and more often involve a blood draw rather than a breath test — which opens chain-of-custody and lab-error defenses that a breath case does not have.
The municipal departments
Roy, Riverdale, South Ogden, North Ogden, Pleasant View, Washington Terrace and Harrisville each field their own officers. Small departments mean fewer DUI arrests per officer per year — and a real difference in how consistently standardized field sobriety tests are administered.
